Abstract Submission Guidelines

  1. Call for Abstracts: Delegates submitting abstract must be registered for the conference and quote the Registration ID during abstract submission.
  2. Language: The official language of the Conference is English . Abstracts not in English will not be processed
  3. The work submitted must not have been presented at any previous conclave/ conference/seminar or published in any journal.
  4. Each delegate will be allowed to present one paper OR poster .
  5. Each speaker will be allotted 8 minutes for presentation followed by 2 minutes of discussion
  6. Presentation will be only on a single LCD projector. NO Slide projectors/OHP will be provided.
  7. All presentations will be property of IAGE/ISGE
  8. If similar abstracts are submitted more than once, the first will be accepted for review.
  9. Abstract submission closing date: 25th August 2018 (12:00 Midnight)

  12. Review and Acceptance of Abstracts: Abstracts will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers. The panel will accept or reject submissions and allocate accepted papers for either an oral presentation or poster presentation. Authors will be notified of the outcome by 30th August 2018. If no notification is received please consider that the abstract is ACCEPTED.
  13. Presenting Author: The contact details of the presenting author must be entered during online submission of the abstract. The conference secretariat will communicate with the presenting author through e-mail.
  14. Substitute Presenters: Presenters who are unable to attend the conference due to last minute emergency may nominate a substitute presenter who is co-author of the paper, and is also registered as co-author for the conference.
  15. Abstract Format:
    Title: Less than 20 words. Arial Font size 12, ALL CAP
    Body: Maximum of 300 words (excluding title) of plain text without diagrams, charts, footnotes or references, structured as follows: Introduction, Aims & Objectives, Methods, Results and Conclusions.
  16. Presentation Format: Presentations of reviewed and accepted abstracts will be either as oral, competitive or posters. When submitting an abstract online, the presenting author may request: Oral/Competitive/Poster only. Oral presentations should be by Microsoft PowerPoint slides. The presenting authors will receive detailed instructions about conference computing facilities, requirements and guidelines for posters prior to the conference.
  17. Publication Rights: By submitting an abstract, the authors give the right to the conference organizers to publish the abstract in abstract CD. The presenting author must enter the co-authors’ names and affiliations when submitting the abstract on line. The authors retain the rights to publish work on which the abstract is based elsewhere.

  19. To submit abstract, conference registrants must click on the "New Attendee" on the abstract submission portal and provide their details again.

E-poster: Kindly note that posters will be in Electronic Form ONLY.

  • Electronic poster (E-poster) presentations are similar to traditional poster presentations, but presented on a large computer screen (42"LCD displays in the Landscape position).
  • Whether traditional or electronic, a well-constructed poster is self-explanatory, achieving both coverage and clarity.

Guidelines for formatting and making the E- POSTER:

  1. Presenting Author MUST be a registered delegate of STAR 2018 Conference
  2. Each delegate will be allowed to present one paper OR poster.
  3. Save your poster to USB key (thumb) drive and bring with you the day of your presentation.
  4. All posters at the Congress will be displayed in an innovative Electronic Poster Display Room/ Arena.
  5. Posters will be viewed on computers. Authors are encouraged to be available in the area to discuss their posters and interact with delegates interested in their work.
  6. Set the page size to 36.5"W and 20.5"H. Use a minimum font size of 32 points. Don't overcrowd the slide.
  7. The E-poster will be displayed on standard 42"(Diagonal)LCD screen
  8. File format should be Powerpoint (.PPT).
  9. Total size of the presentation should not exceed 10MB.
  10. Maximum number of slides per E-poster : 2 (Two)
  11. All slides should be in landscape format
  12. You are requested to submit your poster / abstract by 25th Aug. 2018. Subject line of this mail should be: STAR 2018 poster for uploading.
  13. Animation/movies/sounds will not be supported; please submit in a static PPT format only
  14. Please also carry a soft copy with you in case of any technical hitches.
  15. Please note the time span – Presentation time: 8 mins. Discussion time: 2mins.
  16. You have to show the conference registration receipt at the time of presentation.
